MATHLECTICS
We are now trying our Maths skills in Mathletics. We all have our own usernames and passwords. We can challange children all around the world to Maths games. Miss Arnold can also set homework for us to complete. The more tasks we complete successfully, the more points we get. We can't wait to get online.

Topic This term, through Geography we are focusing on Weather and Tourism. We have worked in groups to generate questions that we would like to answer.
During History lessons we will be looking at how Oxwich has changed over the decades. We have been doing our own research at home about this topic. Soon we will put all this information together and create a class book about the history of Oxwich.We will be using photographs, the 1861 census, booiks and the Internet to research the history of Oxwich. It was a major tourist attraction for many years.

Language. Spelling words are given out on a Monday. We practise them in our spelling journals daily. We are quizzed on our words on a Friday.
We must remember to bring our reading books in every day. |

Science This term we are investigating light, shadows and sound. All we need is some sunshine after all the snow and we can have great fun investigating shadows.
We also have a weather station that we are going to set up at the end of January. Hopefully it will not freeze.

Personal, Social and Emotional Education This is Fluffy Duck the circle time duck. We have circle time everyWednesday. Our topic this term is friends, people and peer pressure.
Maths This term we are going to be learning about negative numbers, co-ordinates, money, measurement, data handling and calculations. We also need more practise at telling the time.
Battleships ans co-ordinates has been our favourte part so far.

Design and Technology We are going to be researching and investigating different vehicles and objects that use air to help them move, design our own monsters which have a moving part, making our design and then evaluating our models.
Music We need to remember our recorders each day in the term. Recorders will be on a Friday with Claire Mainwaring. We will be appraisng, composing and performing our own music based on monsters. We have been listening to music in class, talking about what it is about, which instruments are being used, the rhythmn, the volumeand the bits we like or don't like.
Choir will be every Friday lunchtime so keep practising those songs.
Physical Education Swimming will take place every Tuesday at Penyrheol Swimming Pool. We need swimming trunks or a bether, goggles, a towel and long hair needs to be tied back.
Games sessions will be on a Thursday. We need a full kit to change into.
Information Technology As Year 3 and 4 children we are now independent thinkers and learners. We love to use the Internet for our own research. We have been learning the importance of keeping safe on the Internet. If you click on the picture below it is full of useful information to keep us safe. This term we will be learning about spreadsheets. We are already able to make tables and graphs so next we are going to learn how to use the spreadsheet for formulas.

Miss Arnold will be running Netball Club every Wednesday after school for the Year 4. 5 and 6 children with the help of Mrs Evans. The club will run from 3.30pm until 4.15pm weather permitting. Full sports kit must be worn.
