Topic Our topic for the academic year will be Llanrhidian This term, through Geography we are focusing on people and places. We have worked in groups to generate questions that we would like to answer.
During History lessons we will be looking at how Llanrhidian has changed over the decades. We have been doing our own research at home about this topic. Soon we will put all this information together and create a class book about the history of Llanrhidian.
Miss Arnold went to Portsmouth this year. She was lucky enough to meet some ofthe team involved with raising a Tudor warship called the Mary Rose. We are going to meet one of the divers and learn about King Henry the V111 and his warship. |

Language. Spelling words are given out on a Monday. We practise them in our spelling journals daily. We are quizzed on our words on a Friday.
We must remember to bring our reading books in every day. |

Science Our topic this term will be The Characteristics of Materials. We will be invcestigating the types of materials and why there are used.

Personal, Social and Emotional Education This is Fluffy Duck the circle time duck. We have circle time every Thursday.
Maths We are learning to order and sequence numbers. We are also going to be learning about place value. That means that we will learn about the value of each digit in a number.
Miss Arnold is going to help us to the learn our times tables. The Year Three children need to know 2, 5 and 10 and the Year 4 need to know those too but also they need to know their 3, 4, 9 and 8. Of course we would love to know them all.

Design and Technology We are gong to be researching and investigating different structures, designing our own structures, making our design and then evaluating our models.
The junior children are going to meet Jo Bass from Braces bread. She is going to talk to use about how making bread has developed over the years and how they produce bread now.
Music We need to remember our recorders each day in the term. Recorders will be on Tuesday with Miss Birch and a Friday with Claire Mainwaring.
Choir will be every Friday lunchtime so keep practising those songs.
Physical Education This term we are going to be learning Dance. We will be learning a dance routine for the centenary celebrations on October 9th.
Every Tuesday we will have games sessions. We need to remember our kits.
Information Technology As Year 3 and 4 children we are now independent thinkers and learners. We love to use the Internet for our own research. We have been learning the importance of keeping safe on the Internet. If you click on the picture below it is full of useful information to keep us safe.

Art Club will take place every Tuesday lunchtime at 12.30pm from 15th September. Don't forget if you are a regular member you get a sketchbook.
Miss Arnold will be running Netball Club every Wednesday after school for the Year 4.5 and 6 children with the help of Mrs Evans. The club will run from 3.30pm until 4.15pm weather permitting. Full sports kit must be worn.
